The VI Peel Procedure

The VI Peel is a quick, in-office procedure that takes only a few minutes. Prior to the treatment, individuals with darker skin tones may need to precondition the skin for a period of two to four weeks. As the peel is applied to the skin, there may be a slight stinging sensation, but this will go away quickly. No anesthesia is needed with the VI Peel as it contains a numbing agent within it.

Once the peel is fully applied, patients can go home with instructions to leave it on the skin for at least four hours before washing it off. Patients will be given detailed instructions for aftercare along with products that are designed to enhance the peeling process.

Results from VI Peels

Immediately following the VI Peel, patients will notice the skin may appear red or inflamed. This is normal and should resolve within about 24 hours. Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 1-2 days following the peel.

In about 2-3 days following the application of the VI Peel, the skin will begin to peel. This can last anywhere from three to seven days. Patients can use moisturizer to help with peeling and should apply a daily sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. After about two weeks, the skin should be fully healed and look noticeably smoother and healthier.
