RF energy is a type of electrical energy that is used to heat the targeted area and deliver treatment that stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin deep within the skin for improving the tissues and tightening the skin. This multipolar device provides multi-dimensional energy deep within the skin’s layers. When combined with the very small, sterilized needles on the handpiece, patients can enjoy microneedling results as well. These tips are used to puncture the skin and stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen. Between the radiofrequency energy and the microneedling, patients will see results faster than with either treatment alone.

Where can Infini be used?

There are many ways in which we can use the technology in our practice, but we do find that Infini works best on the facial and neck areas. The face, neck, jowls, and even the décolletage are the areas best suited for Infini treatments, as they provide noticeable skin tightening and skin resurfacing results in these areas.

Can I combine Infini with other dermatological procedures?

Absolutely! At Khrom Dermatology and Aesthetics, Dr. Tatiana Khrom may suggest combining Infini skin rejuvenation services with LaseMD to achieve the best results. The combination of these two treatments is called Total GLO. Other services available in the office include cosmetic injectables. Cosmetic injectables are often used to focus on fine lines and wrinkles on the facial area, and when combined with radiofrequency energy, provide unsurpassed results. Injectables may include neuromodulators such as Dysport or Botox, dermal fillers such as Juvéderm or Restylane, or collagen stimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra.

What skin type is best for Infini?

In the past, it was difficult for dermatological providers to use certain devices on specific types of skin because of poor results. However, because needles are insulated, Infini can be used on darker skin types. We encourage patients to consider this treatment to improve their appearance without having to worry about side effects that may have happened in the past with the use of certain devices. Many issues on the skin can be improved with skin rejuvenation services such as Infini.

How many treatments will I need to see results?

While results may be seen after just one treatment, it is best for patients to undergo a series of treatment sessions to get the best results. We typically recommend patients consider two or more treatments for the results to be noticeable by others. Treatments are often spaced several weeks apart. Some patients choose to address their current problem with treatment, and then undergo treatment periodically over time to maintain the results and keep the skin refreshed and revitalized.

Does it hurt to have radiofrequency treatments?

Many of our patients find that the discomfort that they feel during Infini treatments is tolerated well. However, we will still utilize an anesthetic cream on the skin that helps in numbing the area prior to providing treatment. The discomfort felt after the numbing cream is often a mild snap or stinging sensation that is rather mild and well-tolerated. To minimize anxiety and discomfort from the procedure, we provide PRONOX, an innovative system that involves 50/50 combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen.

What are the side effects of Infini?

There are minimal side effects that may be noticed after Infini. Some patients have slight bruising, however, most just experience red, sensitive skin for approximately 24 hours. Patients will not experience any downtime and can return to their normal activities following treatment sessions with Dr. Tatiana Khrom.

Infini is a superior procedure that is designed for all skin types.

What is it used for?

This is a fractionated micro-needling device which is able to improve a variety of skin conditions such as acne scarring, and it is able to additionally give some tightening to the lower face and the neck.

Is the procedure done under anesthesia?

The procedure is done under local numbing, and we use a strong numbing cream. Because the needles are insulated and covered, we can use this procedure for any skin type, and recovery is minimal.

How many treatments will I need to see results?

  • TCA cross (physician peel) – 70 to 100 percent TCA is applied to treat icepick scars.
  • Subcision – This procedure breaks the fibrotic strands, which tie the scar to the underlying tissue. This lifts the depression.
  • Subcision combined with Sculptra – Sculptra will stimulate new collagen production.
  • Laser acne scar removal – another option for our patients is laser removal with resurfacing services. Laser devices have been used in the medical field for many years and have been found to be a terrific way to stimulate new skin cells and promote healing with collagen and elastin production. This treatment is non-invasive yet effective at addressing large areas of scarring such as rolling scars. Patients can ask about this and dermal fillers as options for addressing acne scars. We use fractional ablative CO 2 Laser and the non-ablative Icon Laser for scar treatment. In addition, we use Infini RF with insulated needles to improve atrophic scars in any skin type.
