What can I expect during my lip augmentation procedure?
During the lip augmentation procedure, patients start with a consultation appointment with Dr. Tatiana Khrom and her team. We will evaluate the lips, discuss with patients what they would like to achieve with treatment, and then work with them to determine if Restylane is best for their needs. Once patients have decided to move forward with cosmetic injectables, they are made comfortable in the treatment chair. There may be some minor discomfort as Restylane is injected into the lips, because the area is so sensitive. However, it takes just minutes and anywhere from 10-20 injections along the lips to create the results patients desire. Some patients will find that they like the addition of lidocaine with their Restylane to make the injections more comfortable.
Once the procedure is complete, patients are given information about what to expect afterwards. Post procedure, many patients may notice some short-term side effects including:
