QWO™ cellulite treatment in Brooklyn, NY

Women with moderate to severe cellulite can now benefit from an exciting new treatment at Khrom Aesthetics in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Tatiana Khrom is pleased to offer QWO™, the first FDA-approved injectable treatment designed to permanently eliminate “Grade 2” and “Grade 3” cellulite.

Cellulite is a common problem among women. While many factors can influence the development of these characteristic dimples and orange peel texture, its causes can be found underneath the skin. QWO™ treatment targets the most common source of cellulite: the supportive, hardened fibrous septae that are responsible for creating cellulite depressions. Over time, these bands thicken and create tension, which forces fat up to the skin’s surface and results in that characteristic “cottage cheese” appearance.

QWO™ is formulated with enzymes that break down the old collagen that septae is made from which helps to “release” the fibrous bands that connect the skin and muscle.

QWO™ promotes the development of new firming collagen, which helps to smooth the skin and prevent future cellulite formation.

Patients who have undergone QWO™ treatment appreciate that it is fast, low-risk, comfortable, and minimally invasive. It takes direct aim at skin-related changes responsible for cellulite.

In clinical trials, which involved more than 1,800 women – more than any other injectable cellulite treatment – most study subjects saw noticeable improvement after just three treatment sessions. These treatments were scheduled 21 days apart. Side effects from treatment were no different than those associated with numerous other nonsurgical, aesthetic treatments, including injection site bruising, tenderness, red discoloration, warmth, hard or firm areas, itching, and swelling. Bruising generally improves after each treatment and resolves within 21 days. Due to how QWO™ treats the actual fibrous bands and tissues that cause cellulite, patients can expect to enjoy smoother, softer, more attractive skin for as long as they maintain a healthy weight and healthy lifestyle.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is QWO®?
A pioneering prescription medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, QWO® is the only injectable treatment designed to effectively resolve moderate to severe cellulite.
How does QWO® work?
QWO® is made with collagenases enzymes that are designed to target the root cause of cellulite in three ways:
  • By releasing the fibrous bands that contribute to dimpling
  • By redistributing the fat cells
  • And by triggering the production of fresh, firming collagen
Those bands, fibrous septae, tether the muscle to the skin. As the bands pull the skin down, dimpling arises. As skin thins and fat cells grow and place pressure on the skin, the fibrous septae further thicken and produce tension. The characteristic orange peel texture can be softened by releasing these fibrous structures underneath the skin’s surface.
What areas does it treat?
QWO® is indicated to treat the dimpled areas on the buttocks.
Am I a good candidate for QWO® treatment?
We won’t know for sure if QWO® is right for you until after we evaluate your areas of concern, medical history and discuss your goals and needs during a consultation. Appropriate candidates are generally adult women who do not have:
  • A history of allergies to the ingredients in QWO®
  • A history of allergic reactions following treatment with QWO®
  • Bleeding-related conditions
Also, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or if you are taking any drugs that could affect how your blood clots (i.e., anticoagulant medications). QWO® is appropriate for all skin types, including those patients with dark skin who are historically not good candidates for some other cosmetic treatments due to hypopigmentation and other risks following treatment.
Is QWO® safe?
The makers of QWO®, Endo Aesthetics™, report that it is the “most studied” of all FDA-approved injectable cellulite procedures. These studies have involved more than 1,800 women. Common side effects generally included temporary site redness, itching, discomfort, warmth, swelling, and firmness. Typically, bruising is worst two or three days after injection, and gradually fades. Most bruises were completely gone by day No. 21. In studies, the severity of bruising lessened after each treatment.
What are my alternatives for treatment?
An excellent complementary treatment for the thighs is Profound RF.

QWO® is an effective alternative to creams and other nonsurgical options that fail to live up to their promises. Likewise, it is a non-invasive alternative to surgery or other procedures that involve cutting. The more invasive the treatment, generally the greater the risks of complications and the longer the downtime associated with healing post-treatment.
So, QWO® really works?
Yes! To achieve FDA approval, subjects and evaluators alike had to report at least a two-point improvement in the severity of cellulite following the injection of QWO® medication. A two-point improvement is like going from considerable cellulite to a very smooth surface – a dramatic transformation! In clinical trials, women with an average age of 47 received three treatments spaced 21 days apart. Results were reportedly noticeable within 10 weeks.
How should I prepare for treatment?
As a noninvasive treatment, QWO® does not require the use of topical anesthetic or other numbing agents. So, there are virtually no pre-care instructions to adhere to. We can go over any specific questions that you may have prior to treatment.
What can I expect during treatment?
As indicated, QWO® is well tolerated. We use a small needle to inject the QWO® formulation into areas that are precisely marked prior to administering the injectable formula. Up to two areas may be treated during each visit. It only takes about 10 minutes to complete the injections.
What care is involved afterward?
As the process is so low-touch and painless, no special care is necessary. We will discuss common side effects and things to watch for and, again, answer any questions that you may have about “recovery.” As with many cosmetic treatments, it is advised to avoid exposure to Sun exposure or Ultraviolet light as the treatment sites heal. No compression garments or special products are necessary to support healthy, fast, and uneventful healing.
How much time do I have to take off of work?
You can get back to your regular activities immediately following each treatment. There is no need to avoid sitting on your butt or sleeping on your back, though there may be some fleeting tenderness or soreness following each injection.
How fast will I see noticeable results?
Every patient is different. In clinical studies, optimal results were noted after around 10 weeks. You may see some improvement, however, after the first treatment session.
How many treatments are required to get results?
We will determine the best treatment plan for you, based off of factors such as the severity of your dimpling. Cellulite is generally “graded” on a scale of “0” to “3.” Zero refers to no cellulite, whereas “2” and “3” are early noticeable dimpling and stubborn severe cellulite, respectively. QWO® is designed to effectively treat both moderate and severe cellulite.

Treatment spans, on average, three rounds of injections spaced 21 days apart.
How long do the results last?
QWO® is largely a longer-lasting treatment than many common facial injectables, such as Botox®. New data from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery’s 2020 meeting reported that results can be sustained for up to four years. Studies are actively being conducted to evaluate QWO’s longevity and durability.
